SCHAUMBURG, ILL. (May 14, 2009)–Actuaries and other professionals gathered in New York City recently to discuss how investment decisions impact a company's financial position with a distinguished group of experts at the annual Investment Symposium.
Sponsored by the Society of Actuaries (SOA), the meetin's highlights included sessions on asset class, financing and investment risk management, and investment strategy.
"Adopting a complete risk management approach that takes into account the core risks all businesses face is essential for financial institutions operating today," noted Nicola Barrett, Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and chair of this year's Investment Symposium. "As a risk professional, it is critical that an organization's tolerance and appetite for financial risk is integrated and consistent with its business strategies and strategic planning."
Additional conference highlights included general sessions, concurrent session tracks and an exhibit area for meeting attendees.
